"Absent Minded Me," was originally written by Jule Styne and Bob Merrill for the Broadway musical Funny Girl, but was dropped from the show. Barbra Streisand recorded it on July 24,1964 as a single, the b-side of "Funny Girl," released in August, peaking at 123 on the Billboard US 100 record chart. Peter Matz was the arranger and conductor. It was included in the album People, released in September, reaching #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The album is available on CD on the Sony label.
