Yassine Kodssi is an emerging ambassador of North African and Moroccan culture, his music presents a fresh and catchy example of ethno fusion. The music video to be released is 'Mberika', a love song towards Gnawa people, sang in repetitive style and evoking a trance-like state of love and wistfulness. Besides traditional Gnawa music, the song also includes elements of western flair - jazz and mostly blues. The video is set on the backdrop of a small Moroccan village, the desert scenery bringing forward the nature and simplicity found in the bright colors characteristic of Morocco. The video shows a calm sunrise, a time when Gwana belief says one’s spirits are high, both in love and longing.
