Pat Thomas, een van Ghana's grootste zangers, heeft een glorieuze carrière van 50 jaar achter de rug. Hij groeide op aan de zijde van highlife-legende King Onyina en ging later een hechte samenwerking aan met Ebo Taylor (NL première in Hertme in 2010). Thomas en Taylor waren de stuwende krachten achter Ghana's productieve muziekindustrie die fantastische highlife, afrobeat en afropop heeft opgeleverd. Vorig jaar nam hij in Accra een nieuw album op samen met Ebo, met Afrobeat-legende Tony Allen (in Hertme in 2013) en multi-instrumentalist Kwame Yeboah. Yeboah is de leider van de Kwashibu Area Band die deze zomer met Pat Thomas Hertme zal aandoen. Deze jonge band slaagt er in om Thomas' vloeiende highlife om te buigen naar aanstekelijke Afrosoul en Afrodisco. Dit levert onweerstaanbare dansmuziek op.
