The Third Rail movement can best be described with one word, FUSION. Different forces combined to form a single source of energy. The end result is power in its many manifestations. In transportation, a third rail propels trains. Musically, D Strong, Wildelux (pronounced Will Deluxe) & Aarophat come together for the formation of a group called Third Rail, a new power source for the progression of real Hip-Hop. Hailing from Los Angeles CA, The Bronx NYC & Youngstown OH respectively; individually these three emcees have built names and reputations for themselves that extend worldwide. D Strong is fresh from the success of his 2010 EP "Get Off The Playground", a collaborative effort with Prince Po, one-half of the legendary duo Organized Konfusion. Wildelux steps in with the strength of his 2009 LP "The WDX Misc Files" which was a compilation of rare and unreleased tracks. Aarophat is back again from the acclaimed 2009 release "The Black Noise LP", a group effort with producer Illastrate. Each emcee has brought long time followings to the table for the merging of sounds set to restore the grimy side of Hip-Hop. Their new LP "Politics" refers to the term Third Rail Politics, which are extremely controversial issues. In this case the issue is Hip-Hop and the controversy arises when in this digital auto-tuned generation, Third Rail chooses to carry on the traditions of hard boom-bap beats and lyrics in a climate that desperately needs a cultural rebirth. The Third Rail "Politics" LP is a breath of fresh air for the fans of gold standard Hip-Hop authenticity. The album features production from Apatight, Jeekay, C-Dubb, D Baby Kai, Zitro (of The Audiologists), Jon Phonics, Flinny 500, Tone Beatz & Scarecrow. It's a return to the dirty dungeons that propelled the music for over two decades. The realness is back!

Both Aarophat and Illastrate decided to merge as a group to generate a remedy for the lack of quality in Hip-Hop music today. After listening to the album, it's hard to imagine that they actually met 14 hours before recording a single note. Aaro bonds his intense, intricate rhymes to Illa's nostalgic, boom-bap soulscape. The album consists of rugged instrumentals, along with aggressive percussion and heavy bass that allows Aaro to strategically map out his lyrical takeover while pulling listeners in. Using his insightful lyrics, and an effortless flow, Aarophat gracefully walks the tightropes while Illastrate's production is gritty, yet friendly and inviting. The chemistry between the two is undeniable; and the world will soon agree.
Hailing from Youngstown, Ohio, lead vocalist Aarophat has been making his presence felt on the scene working for years, and has gained the respect of being considered among the most elite wordsmiths in his home state and around the globe. His breakthrough to the world arena came when Pockets Linted CEO and artist Rasco (Cali Agents) noticed the emcee is star quality in his hunger-laced confidence and highly potent delivery and immediately inked Aaro after having his first listen. He soon sided with Pockets Linted/Fat Beats and later with Rawkus being hand picked by Slopfunkdust as one of the "certified" fifty most prolific emcees in the underground hip hop circuit today.
Illastrate's phenomenal qualities are always approaching newer levels as well, along with his knack for top-notch production, quality and style. Illa's name now reverberates in the industry like his trademarked "dirty drums", which can be heard on Akir's "LEGACY" LP, the Broady Champs' "BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS," and on the upcoming Dynas BBE release "THE APARTMENT." His beats are also behind the vocals of such artists as Tiye Phoenix, the Invisible Man Project (Marq Spekt and Karnaige) and Lords Of The Underground.
The Black Noise sound has already been savored as favorite among the masses. Both separately and jointly these two hip-hop giants have definitely proven themselves worthy of their rightful place at the table. With their new self-titled LP the stakes are finally as high as the echelon they have built for themselves. The guard in the rap game is on the break of changing, and sides are being chosen. People want better for themselves. They want a better world and they want better music. The peoples' yearn for better hip-hop shows to be no different. Aarophat and Illastrate have upped their ante yet again, and because of this, things will never be the same.
