David Beede & Aaron O'Rourke - Buckets of Rain - Mt. Dulcimer and Fretless Bass Dulcimer - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 23, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
David Beede & Aaron O'Rourke do the Dylan song "Buckets of Rain" on mountain dulcimer and the prototype of Beede's new Fretless Bass Dulcimer. [Also available fretted.]

This was at a house concert in Sky Valley GA - hosted by Laurie Alsobrook at a dulcimer retreat she organized in June of 2011.

[If you can play this on a system with some bass response or some good headphones you'll get the full effect.]

More of David's music and instruments can be seen on his web site:

This bass dulcimer which is "coming soon" is a "true" bass dulcimer and plays in the range of a stand up/ double bass. Actually the lowest note is D rather than E so it plays lower than a stand up bass. It will sound as good as your bass amp, tone wise. This was being played through a $54 Behringer BT108 Compact 15W Bass Amp.
