So, David Blunk, the guitarist in Thirty Ought Six messaged me earlier this year with four links to video he had uploaded...
I was pretty stunned to find the video for "Adamantine" (never seen that before) and three live clips!
I never got the chance to see Thirty Ought Six live, I was too young, and living in the completely wrong country so these uploads were absolute gems...
What was even more surprising was the fact that two of them were professionally shot videos, "Tike" and "Hag Seed". Wow!
This video come from a show in (update: Thanks to shooky for identifying the venue as Casbah's!) San Diego and is datestamped 3rd November 1995... but through "Radon" changes to the 4th... can Americans really play gigs past midnight?! Over here in the UK live music has to stop well before then, usually! ;)
It shows the three piece live, and you get to see the ferocity they played with, David Blunk's whirring, feedbackingly distorted guitar, Sean Roberts' howled vocals and melodic and yet grinding lead basslines and Ryan Paravecchio, probably one of the most underrated alt-rock drummers I've heard of...
This is probably as good as it gets. Big thanks to Mister David Blunk for passing these my way!
