Johnette “JA” Warren is a singer, writer, poet who also produces both music and spoken word projects for other artist from her production studio located in Buffalo, NY. Her uniquely beautiful and soultry voice coupled with amazing lyrical capabilities sets her apart.
Her saying “Does a thought even matter if it is never expressed to be reckoned with?” explains her passion for helping other independent artist like herself, express themselves.
She has recorded and produced both a music CD entitled “Innermosity” and spoken word album called “Innermosity Poetics” and is currently in production of her next album.
She has produced several spoken word albums and demo projects for artist. Growing her business one step at a time, she has continued to add to her list of accomplishments and capabilities.
JA is currently a member of the Njozi Poets, Njozi Chorus and N’Dias Band. She is currently producing a show entitled “Le Cadeau Noir” with Odell Northington, which will open at The Alt Theatre in June 2010. Also she continues to perform her own original material at different events and venues in the region as well as poetry competitions.
Furthermore, she also throws events like “The Sista’s”, a celebration for black history month.
Her company, Expressed Entertainment, is working on a joint project with Solid Liquid Poet Productions on a video project to debut Spring of 2010 that is sure to turn heads.
Not content to put herself in a box or allow others to, she continues to grow as she explores acting prospects and challenges herself with poetry slams.
Places that she has performed at include but are not limited to The Buffalo Hyatt Regency Hotel, Ujima Theater, The 2nd Cup, The Golden Nugget, Mode, The Lounge, Juneteenth, Martin Luther King Jr. Park, Lincoln Memorial and True Bethel Church. She has worked with, in many different capacities, Marvin Askew Jr., Ntare Ali Gault, Odell Northington, Truth Is, King Mar, Tifani, DB Hands, Tomy Bewick, Howard Tredwell, Archie The Messenger, Rome and many more.
