Daniel Barenboim / English Chamber Orchestra
From 1968, Daniel Barenboim plays Mozart's first fully original piano concerto conducting the English Chamber Orchestra. As Barenboim's original EMI cycle of concertos continued, the engineering indeed became more balanced and concise. As good as he was with the BIG Mozart concertos, some of the most naunced and musical performances he did with EMI were with the composers lighter and easier piano concertos in the series; this and K.271 in E flat being prime examples.
