Aircheck. KMEL was a legendary radio powerhouse, situated in San Francisco. In the early 1980's, it was a rock station, but in 1984, it changed format to CHR/Top 40. In 1987, it got more rhythmic, with emphasis on freestyle. In 1992, it again changed format to Hip Hop/R&B.
The songs have been shortened purposely, but commercials and jingles are kept intact.
