ZS is a band and a genre. ZS played its first show in 2002. There have been 10 distinct line-ups over ZS' ten years of operation. The only consistent member throughout all ten line-ups is saxophonist/composer Sam Hillmer. Other prominent members include Alex Mincek, Charlie Looker, Ian Antonio, Ben Greenberg, Patrick Higgins and Greg Fox. ZS is concerned with creating music that challenges the physical and mental limitations of performer and listener equally. ZS has toured extensively in North America and Europe, and has recently begun visiting Asia. On September 11th, 2012, ZS will release 'SCORE - the complete sextet works 2002 - 2007' a four CD box set. SCORE will be followed by the GRAIN EP in early 2013 and Xe, an LP due out in late 2013. These releases will be accompanied by extensive touring! See you at the show.
