Remember the noise the Super Nintendo made when you sleighed it against your wall whilst taking a whooping at Mario Cart? If not, please allow us to introduce Fife's leading (well… ok, only) bleep-buggering 8-bit bandits Yoshi, an enigmatic musical collective heavily influenced by video-gaming, a vivid culture that Yoshi have melded, via 8-bit computer game samples, with their own melodic world of upbeat, three-part harmonies, analog synth and dirty guitar.

In the past few years, the Scottish music scene has evolved into something of a mighty beast and challenging to meet its expectations with something that's truly original. These faceless creators strive to meet these challenges head on.

Yoshi's vision based on Japanese video-game and culture; of sights and sounds dreamt of, visualized and brought forth to an expectant audience, ready for something bright and undeniably different. Crowding the stage like a funky free-style Happy Mondays, they fire off the likes of 'Headphones', which sees a kind of phat ass ghettoblasted beat the Beasties favoured back in '92, before a distortion doused guitar and deep bass grooves rattles its way in and announces their fleuro-punk arrival. A heady blitz of acid-house, Manga and Mega Drive digi-pop menace certify it's the maddest thing to come out of Fife since, well, forever…
