Born to human parents in the year 1975 Geoffrey Pye looked much like a tiny bird covered in snow. His creative pursuits began early with Styrofoam Worlds and wooden gun adventures. He grew up in a place called Ottawa ON. which suited him fine until he realized the skyline could no longer accommodate his immense need for the practices of imagination. He began to play music, and this brought a small grin to his now teenage face. The music came fast and fluid and he spent every possible minute recording it as he moved his gear from place to place. Drawing from influences far and wide Pye took shelter in books, art and musical styles ranging from Keith Jarrett to Genghis Khan. In 1998 he formed 'The Killers' with friends Julien Beillard (Woodenstars) and Tim Kingsbury (Arcade Fire). Having had the privilege of growing up amongst many wonderful writers and musicians Pye took his skills to the Middle East in a last ditch attempt to broker a peace deal but unfortunately, it failed. Then, due to flight patterns, Toronto became his reluctant home for a number of years. There he wrote and performed with his talented friends John Tielli (Metal Kites), Robin Buckley (Tusks), Marcus Quin (The Silt) and Aaron Booth. After many negotiations and hard times with inner spirits he moved to Halifax N.S. This is where he grew into a funny old man who could no longer take the "scene". Public performances are infrequent but sometimes you can catch him playing with his young band of boys who call him 'Dad'. Pye has recently completed a new record which was written and recorded in the privacy of his home recording compound. It is called "Double Nature". Pye is a waiting a man/woman with feathers and money to come and take it away so that you will understand just why it is you are alive today. He continues to live and yes, write music for those who will listen. You might see him renting a movie or buying some Twizzlers near Wakefield, Quebec, Kanada.
