Wrath and Rapture

Wrath and Rapture general update:
Since the highly anticipated release of our self titled EP in February, 2010, our future has gotten brighter, and better than ever. We have not only attained a sick manager, and booking agent, but we found the bass player that we longed to have since the project began in 2005. Playing on the same material for 5 years isn't ideal for any band, but given our situations, and our faith in the record, it was the best plan of action for us. To push it, and get it out there. Making a name for ourselves, even if it would take a lot longer than we all wanted/expected. 5 years is a long time for anything and it has felt like an eternity.
Don't be fooled however. We have definitely been writing and planning for the future. 2 records ahead in fact! This next record that we will be releasing, "Relinquish all Desire" will finally allow us to breathe, and exude this culmination of genres and technical prowess, in a way that will not only be cathartic to us the players, but to you guys as the audience. We plan on giving fans of progressive music something new to bite down on. Something not only tasty with a great texture, but something that won't ever lose it's flavor and originality. Willy Wonka ain't got shit! Getting pumped for our next record is definitely the appropriate plan of action for anybody who is a current fan of the band, and for anyone who will be in the future. Without you guys we wouldn't be where we are, and we thank you, thank you, thank you for your continuous support!!!!! <3
In the beginning we asked ourselves, "if we could be any type of band, what would it be, and why?" We all had various suggestions, and ideas, but all knew from the start that we were ready for something new. Something we would all be proud of, something that would stand the tests of time. A new era of progressive music. "Time Travel Metal" haha. Blending the past, present, and future worlds of death metal, power metal, jazz fusion, orchestral textures, modern synthesizers, catchy/heavy riffing, and in your face phrasing that will numb the mind and leave you continuously coming back for more. It seems however, that some of the current members have lost sight of this. They want to go back to school, and would rather be a huge let down to all of our fans, and friends. As i said previously, 5 years is a long time for anything, especially when it feels like you're spinning your wheels, feeling as if you're potentially going no where. No one said being in a band was going to be easy, and no one EVER said that becoming a well trained musician was going to just happen with little to no effort.
That being said, do not be discouraged or think that the music will suffer. The guys who are leaving never wanted to contribute to the music, or the financial stability of the band anyways. Success is something they would rather have delivered to their front doors.
The few that are gone WILL be replaced. This band WILL continue forth onto a new frontier, and I would expect our next release to be available around the summer of 2011.
As annoying as this change is, it is completely necessary for the continuance of this project, and for us to take our music to the next level. Noncontributing members just don't belong, and absolutely do not deserve to "ride the coattails" of assiduous teammates.
It's not fair to claim yourself as relevant, when you do nothing to deserve that title. Don't pretend to be something you're not.
Hard work and dedication will always prevail. And we are more than excited to show the metal, and musical community at large, what hard work and dedication can achieve!!! Stay tuned wrath fans, there's PLENTY more coming despite this little hiccup!!!!
