Out of the wilds of Middlesex County, a rock band strides forward, renewed in purpose, ready to impress critics and thrill crowds. Woodbury is four men from Tewksbury, each just coming into their power as musicians despite nearly half a decade of history as a band. Frontman/lead singer David Gallotto asserts their second and self-titled CD shows how they've matured as a group. Brett Scott's precise and heated drums showcase the driving pulse behind a multi-layered rock sound that can pump through many sub-genres, from pummeling rock and roll to a more soulful progressive-alternative sound. Ryan Sheehan's efforts at lead guitar belie his self-taught origins, proving him more than a match for rockers far more schooled than he. Tom Dennehy, the bass backbone of the band, unites Woodbury's music, balancing the four band members on his four strings.
Woodbury is currently touring, rocking New England from Acton to Salisbury Beach. They have played storied discriminating venues like Harper's Ferry and The Middle East, yet aren't afraid of closer more intimate spaces like Sligo's Pub, or rollicking juke joints like Rocko's Bar. While typically trading audience good times for band sustaining dollars (both at venues and private parties), the band is not averse to donating their time and talent for an excellent cause, like the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
