Sometimes things are not exactly the way they look, or sound.

Remember that 1971 classic flick Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory?

Everything seemed so cheerful, colourful and (literally) sweet. But underneath all these earliest impressions lay a sinister atmosphere, set by a sadistic man with mischievous techniques for telling bad from good. That is the same contrast you will find between music and lyrics when you listen to Wonkavision, a powerpop band from Brazil, with their japanese debut release scheduled for August 2007.

The sunny tunes are filled with stories about idiosyncrasies of day-to-day human relationships. The guy who can't stand his job, the teenager on antidepressants, the rejection junkie girl who only falls for the wrong guys.

This universe of human behavior musical analysis has presented Wonkavision with the best indie brazilian rock band award in 2005, and several five star reviews by the main brazilian music publications for their first album Wonkainvasion.

The album was produced by John Ulhoa, composer and guitarist for Pato Fu, one of the top five bands in the world by Times Magazine. John has also produced the solo album by the Mutantes member Arnaldo Baptista, among other artists.

Wonkavision is Will (vocals and guitars), Manu (voice and moogs) and Kiko (drums) and they are dying to wonkainvade Japan and the world.
