This profile was created using: ProfileTweaks Editor Ver.2 WiserVice blend a mix of Dub, Reggae, Rock, Ska and Hip Hop to form a fresh and original sound. Incorporating soulful vocals with deep bass and solid drums, trumpet licks, turntable cuts, shimmering guitars and heavy Human Beatbox.

Originating from Southsea in the U.K the band were formed by 6 childhood friends in 2004 from the ashes of local Rock, Reggae and Hip Hop groups. After 4 years of watching one another play in different bands they had finally come together through sharing one musical vision. Wooo!

The bands music and lyrics draw on experiences of life around them every day, from the reality of earning a pay cheque to addressing the lack of motivation and frustration that can come from life in a densely populated city. The name WiserVice refers to the fact that each human must have a vice – for we are only human after all, it’s just deciding on one that allows you to live your life and avoiding those that stifle life and creativity, a Wiser-Vice if you will (and you will!)

The band are gradually building a dedicated following in their hometown and beyond. They sold out their local venue The Wedgewood Rooms with their first headline show, this coupled with gigs with Dreadzone, The Hi:Fi festival 2006, Mike Park, Salmonella Dub and The Trojan Sound System make for a bright future for WiserVice, plus of course they are having plenty of fun in the process.

“WiserVice could make a dead man dance”

(Live review – The Fly 2005)

“Portsmouth's WiserVice throw themselves into an electrifying set that reveals their understanding of the ass-rattlingly deep sound of dub, but adds elements of rock and ska to create a fresh, original sound built on a foundation of real reggae flavour”

(Live review – Evening Standard 2006)
