Functioning families are something of a rarity these days and to see one that puts together solid lyrics, vocals, and tight harmonies may be even rarer still. These folks not only have a serious passion for what they bring to the table musically, but also embody an unspoken connection both on and off stage.

In 1997 they made the trek from small town southern Ontario Canada to Nashville. In a standout landscape of formulaic music acts based mostly on calculation and marketing strategies The Wilkinsons established themselves as an act with their heads wrapped around the direction of what their music was truly all about. It’s with this organic, unfiltered sound that they caught the immediate attention of record labels, resulting in bidding wars.

Meteoric success followed brought on by 1 and chart topping singles including; 26 Cents, Fly, Boy Oh Boy, Jimmy’s Got A Girlfriend, Nothing But Love, L.A, Little Girl and more; From writing 7 songs on the first album “Nothing But Love” to penning the majority of the songs on all their projects including the last release “Home”.

The Wilkinsons commitment of creativity goes way beyond just the singing. “We’re really trying to stretch the boundaries of our music,” says Amanda. “I know as a fan or music I don’t think the music buying public likes to hear the same thing recycled over and over again. The important thing is to be consistent with who you are, while always striving to have the goal of furthering yourself and your sound. You know, keep folks interested!” The Wilkinsons are stretching out in other areas of music as well. Steve has thrived in the production world with the last album “Highway” and most recently with “Home” (Fontana North) and now the new songs to be included on “The Greatest Hits…and Then Some”.

“I think I have settled in confidently into my role as a producer. My passion is trying different approaches and expanding our sound in general,” says Steve. He is also responsible for initiating the idea for Gemini nominated hit mockumentary styled television show, THE WILKINSONS which ran two seasons on CMT.

Amanda as well shows that she is growing, with a self-titled solo project that sky rocketed in late 2005. Propelling 3 top 5 singles, 2 1 CMT videos for “No More Me and You”, and “It’s Ok To Cry” and also winning the 2005 CCMA Rising Star Award. “I look forward to my continued future as a solo artist as well as what I do with my family” states Amanda.

Tyler< also has been testing out his creative wings in writing and starting pre-production for a solo project with his rock band Motion Picture Ending. “The music I am making is different from what we have made together in the past but dad has always encouraged us to take music where our hearts tell us to”. With a huge fan base and rave reviews great things are certain to happen for Tyler and MPE in the very near future. “We are cursed with an addiction to music, plain and simple,” says Steve. “That we get to do it professionally is really a gift, and to make music as a family is even more incredible”. Steve also notes, “Music is escapism for the listener but also for the artist. We are honored and humbled to have been given the chance to create music and had this magical journey for 16 yrs. I don’t see us slowly down any time soon".
