Wild Bores is singer/songwriter John Whildin and friends, the musical amalgamation that brings his songbook to life. When asked where the name came from, Whildin says, "Life is a series of 'wild bores.' It reminds me not to take things too seriously. Just keep pluggin' away and don’t worry about the rest."

The music of Wild Bores is rooted in traditional power pop created from a broad palette of light and color, the sounds of multiple decades, and impressionist lyrics. The tunes are alternately humorous, melancholy, uplifting, and poignant. Whildin's warm and honest vocal style connects with the listener, providing a strong sense of familiarity.

Wild Bores' self-titled album, released in 2009, delivers a bird’s-eye view of the group's studio recordings, past and present. It features candy-granite collaborations with longtime trustee Brian Chard, and drummerific performances by Dan Leali (Poi Dog Pondering) and Glenn Kotch (Wilco).

This year Whildin will support the release of "We Think Alike" (the new album due out March 15, 2010) with solo and full-band performances in the Midwest, Northeast and Southeast regions.

Before forming Wild Bores, Whildin co-founded the techno-rock group Tic Tah, frequent Chicago Metro headliners and “Star Search” finalists. His exemplary work on keyboards and guitar later landed him a spot with Midwest college favorites Odd Man Out. During these years he began writing his own songs and shaping the sound of Wild Bores. The band actively performed and recorded during the mid-late ‘90s before dissolving in 2000.
