Historia zaczyna sie kiedy znudzony graniem metalu/hardroka/njumetalu/postkora(niepotrzebne skreslic) w zespole Bozon Higgsa niegdysiejszy basista Rottweilera - Mroziu kierowany potrzeba powrotu do punk rocka przypomina sobie o starych kolegach. Strzala i Szymon od czasu rozpadu Rottweilera pograzaja sie w muzycznym nierobstwie, wiec ochoczo chociaz nie bez obaw zgadzaja sie przylaczyc do nowego projektu. Na katowickim koncercie Poison Idea poznajemy Michala - bylego perkusiste grupy Defence, ktory okazuje sie byc kumatym mlodym czlowiekiem i dobrym perkusista i w ten sposób sklad staje sie kompletny. Szybko powstaja nowe numery w troche odmiennej od Rottweilerowskiej stylistyce, nieco wolniej pisza sie teksty i w koncu po dlugich naradach wybieramy nazwe. To be reliable we shall start with a bit of history. Rottweiler starting in 1989 became a part of Polish punk rock with 2 tapes and one vinyl EP. Unfortunately due to some attidude differences in the band they decided to break up.
The Whitman story begins, when the ex bass guitarist of Rottweiler bored with playing metal/hardrock/nu-metal/postcore (underline the proper) in the band Bozon Higgsa, feeling the need to return to punk rock, reminds himself of his old friends. Stzrala and Szymon sinking in musical laziness since the Rottweiler breakup, eagerly, but not without anxiety agree to join the new project. On the Poison Idea concert in Katowice they meet Michal – ex Defence drummer, who apperas to be a smart and skillful young drummer, and makes the band compleete. Quickly we create new material in a bit different style than Rottweiler, a little slower, the lyrics are beeing written and at last, after long considerations, we decide on a name. On the 18th of March 2005 Whitman plays the firs concert, which prooves that punk rock is still with us. For some time now, our recorded material is avaliable – 11 tracks inspired by the classical american style like The freeze, Social Unrest or Toxic Reasons.
