Stephen Smith is an eclectic singer/songwriter from Merseyside.
His musical career began whence his Mum bought him one of those cheap and nasty guitars from Argos.
After mastering a few chords, he then managed to land the role of Guitarist in a local 4 piece indie/punk outfit.
It was during this period Stephen began writing his own songs and started to work with different vocalists and musicians. '
Stephen then put together a new band to perform the material he had been writing. Eventually named Glasschild, the 5 piece indie/rock band began performing regularly in and around the North West. Whilst the band managed to play some great venues, support some great bands and win fans over in England and Spain, they never managed move on to bigger and better things and subsequently split.
Today, a few years on, Stephen is struggling to forage a solo career. He doesn't possess the greatest of voices and his guitar playing often leaves a lot to be desired. However, one thing Stephen does possess is an ability to relay his feelings and beliefs through his songs, in a way that allows the listener to connect.
Stephen's debut ep 'songs only I will listen to', managed to live up to its title.
His debut album 'next train to nowhere' contains 12 very interesting tales about love, hate, hope, freedom, addiction and peace. The album has just been released on the Purpular Records label.
The first single to be released off the album will be the song 'Liar Liar'.
'Liar Liar', has provoked a great amount of interest since the albums release and will be released on Monday 4th April on iTune
