Since the band was ripped apart by the great atlantic ocean in 2006 it is (mostly) no longer active :( you should try listening to Logi's band Sudden Weather Change, or Júlía's band Feather and Folly.

We painted the walls is an acoustic duo formed in the fall of 2004 by friends and co-workers Júlía Hermannsdóttir & Logi Höskuldsson, both born in the great year of the rabbit, 1987. The pair were working together painting the walls of the youth information center, Hitt Húsið, in the summer of 2004. As the summer passed and their painting work progressed the two friends would use quiet moments to lie on the floor and escape reality by writing surreal poems on the brown paper protecting the floor from paint. The poems turned into stories and songs and as Júlía discovered Logis talent for playing the acoustic guitar she humbly offered him her broken voice, her love for hitting things with sticks and her general assistance which led to them forming the band We Painted the Walls. Together they play quite unique but simple little songs which won them the title 'the most interesting band' in Icelands battle of the bands 'Músíktilraunir' 2005. WPTW like laughing, playing in living rooms and playing for their friends. they've never released any proper recordings but have a homemade demo CD available.
