Deana Marie Barlow (born July 22, 1977) whose stage name is Wenzday Atemz hails from Niagara Falls, New York. This Caucasian rapper, singer, songwriter stands as one of the most talented female artists to emerge in years. The daughter of Fred and Sandy Barlow, she grew up in an inner city environment that was plagued with tragic events and toughness. Miss. Atemz is one of four children. At youth she endured a life changing experience with the loss of her eight-year-old brother. This painful ordeal combined with the effects of child abuse, affected her mindset and caused her to suffer from depression. Several months following this tragic event Wenzday began to get At-emz. Influenced by rapping and break dancing in the schoolyard, she began to transform her depression into ingenious lyrics.

Growing up in an inner city improvised environment and personal strife provided Wenzday with a vast majority of her lyrical content. She consumed her grade, junior high and high school years with writing. Her penmanship grabbed the attention of her many of her teachers. Her peers were soon to catch on. She earned street credibility thru the countless street, courtside and party battle rap sessions. Her inspiration comes from God, and music itself, she states. This young lady bears all the tools and experience necessary to set her apart from her competitors.

Following high school Ms. Atemz was accepted to Saint Rose College in Albany, NY. There she studied communications and was a member of the soccer team. While in college she continued to perfect her craft, she linked up with Syracuse producer Eddie James and recorded her debut street banger “In Love With The Lab”. That track symbolized the birth of an uncommon rap artist that possesses the ability to take concepts and produce catchy comprehensible verbal narratives. In Love with the lab illustrated her deep passion for music and unlimited potential as a rap artist. Financial hardships forced her to withdraw from college before she completed her studies. In the following years, Wenzday Atemz continued to write and dominate freestyle ciphers thus creating a buzz in the underground rap scene. She signed to Hot To Def Records a local independent record label in early 1999. Featured on their compilation album “We Got Next”, She chose to sever ties with this label within the same year as a result of poor management.

Regardless of assumptions Wenzday Atemz is no rookie to the rap game. This lyrically gifted emcee continued to spit rhymes and perform over the next several years. She has opened up for industry artist such as Fifty Cent and G-Unit, Ice T, Eddie Money, Nicole Wray, Roxanne Shante, DJ Envy, DJ Green Lantern and American Idol’s Peter Lewis. She has been privileged to complete studio work with platinum single producer Kidd Kold of DMX’s Bloodline Records. Wenzday was selected to participate in the National freestyle Olympics held in Detroit Michigan and Cleveland Ohio. This event was filmed by MTV, hosted by rapper Stat Quo and aired on Mtv’s True Life Im a Freestyle Rapper. Wenzday was chosen as a Top 25 contestant for VH1 TV Series “Miss Rap Supreme”. Hosted and judged by Yo-Yo and MC Search. She was a Contestant on CBS Jingle show with Kimberly Caldwell and Jean Simmons also. Her songs have been featured on a number of Internet and traditional radio stations WBLK, 93.7, Kiss 98.5, 103.3 The Edge. Most recently, her radio drop has been in rotation on 93.7 WBLK for over six months.

The sincere passion Miss Atemz’ developed for music at a young age cultivated her later years. Versatile, she writes all of her own lyrics and can sing, rap and dance. Wenzday will kick the meanest freestyle ever heard from the lips of a Caucasian female emcee. Her music represents a positive type of music as well as a blend of styles similar to well-known industry artists Eve and Missy Elliott. Her stage presence is both energetic and charged with emotion. Once dubbed "the female version of Eminem " by her peers, Wenzday Atemz gradually came into her own and established herself as one of rap's hottest upcoming artist. Wenzday Atemz is a commodity; the music industry is in dire need of a breath of fresh air and she is undoubtedly it.

In 2007 The Hard Rock Café designed a limited addition collectors pin in the likeness of Wenzday At-emz’ character and Logo. She is a regular performer at the Hard Rock Café. She has been the headline for fundraisers and charity events like Breast Cancer Awareness, March on Stage and a plethora of outside concerts for their company. General manager of The HRC Dominic Verni stated, “We rarely endorse hip-hop acts at the Hard Rock Café unless they are industry. Wenzday At-emz is a special occasion and we are proud to have put her on the bill. Likewise we were honored to have made a memorabilia made of her altered ego. Her music is very easy to understand for those that aren’t in tune with hip-hop. She displays a separate class of creativity. She’s truly phenomenal.”

Rapping singing and writing is not Miss. Atemz only game plan. In early 2008, Wenzday enlisted her long time friend/entrepreneur LaShaundria Coleman as her business partner. They founded an independent record label Cataract City Entertainment where she serves as President of the incorporation. Creating nothing short of a movement, Wenzday added childhood friends Denisha Osbourne and Tomorrow Allen as artist to her label. Currently, the label plans to release several singles off her upcoming album entitled Stylez and Tribulationz. Wenzday Has performed at a multitude of venues with Tomorrow and Denisha, both ladies have singles scheduled for release in early 2010. All of Cataract City Entertainments new releases will be available via the web at the CCE website, Rapsody, Itunes, Cd Baby and Myspace.

Miss. Atemz has had the privilege of working closely with industry artist Robby Takac of the Goo Goo Dolls. She is a frequent performer for his charity foundation Music Is Art. The Music Is Art Foundation and the Erie County Mental Health Association chose Wenzday to perform her positive heart felt messages for grade, middle and high school students at schools throughout Buffalo, New York. She has an upcoming Music is Art Awareness Tour scheduled for the 2009/2010 school year. Wenzday is also featured on Robby Takac’s Amungus CD that is being sold on the web at Good Charamel Records. Wenzday Atemz multi-dimensional skills speak for itself. Follow her journey as this amazing lady catapult into the forefront of the hip-hop movement.
