Cricket was an original Louisville, Kentucky rock group that played in and around the Louisville Metro area from 2004-2009. The band recorded two albums at DSL studios under the direction of recording engineer Mike Baker. Motel Magazine was released in 2004 and Sofa City Sweethart was released in 2007. The band was fronted by lead guitarist/singer/songwriter Benjamin Fields. Bassist David King recorded with Cricket during the Motel Magazine sessions and Jeremy Winkie took over the bass duties on Sofa City Sweethart. Benjamin's younger brother Justin Fields drummed during the Motel Magazine sessions and shared the drum tracks with Matthew Texter during the Sofa City Sweethart recording sessions. The band played many shows throughout their tenure. Cricket unofficially disbanded in early 2009. Then officially called it quits in the spring of 2010. Benjamin Fields has since moved forward with a new rock/pop group called The Cages Of Gold. www.myspace.com/cagesofgold
