"Belladonna do a fine line in scuzzy, salacious punk rock with one stiletto on the dancefloor. They thrust fun to the fore and carry everything off with commendable DIY aplomb. On it's own terms ,Hey Weirdo! is a riot" - KERRANG!

“Once played at high volume will render the listener exhausted, exhilarated and needing a shower.” – The Fly

“Imagine if The Kills were from a Geordie mining town or if the Yeah Yeah Yeahs were remixed on a Nintendo Gameboy” -

4/5

Rennie Pilgrem - IDJ Magazine

.

"Belladonnas release is more rewarding than Brody Dalles latest effort"

-NME

.

BELLADONNA We Are Your Diversity 7/10

Simple crunching guitars, Danielle Dax-style dominatrix chants and a Siouxsie wail add up to entertaining glittery goth from the Darlington mob.

.

"In a depression and rececession hit country where everything seems to be doom and gloom at the moment, including the weather, Belladonna could be just what’s needed to shake the cob webs off and put some life back into people." 4/5

-The Beat Surrender

.

"There is a Raw Charm to 'Hey Weirdo!' particularly on 'Cross The Line'. "

-NME

"Belladonna have successfully married off rumbling bass and beats with a garage punk sound. The results are a glittery darkness which feels like the onset of a pleasurable migraine. Or the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs album wrapped in barbed wire"

-Crack Magazine

"Belladonna do a fine line in scuzzy salacious pop with one stilletto firmly on the dancefloor"

-Kerrang Magazine

"Hey Weirdo will stand as a bold and brazen induction into the contemporary canon and help begin to carve a path for two blood-thirsty artrock bitches who should rightfully be sitting in seats currently occupied by idiot puppets Florence and the Machine or La Roux."

-godisinthetvzine

‘One’s to Watch’ – Emma Scott’s Raw Show Kerrang! Radio

“So fresh and energetic, it’s got a kind of sound that’s not quite like anything else you’ve heard before” –

Tom Robinson 6MUSIC

"Belladonna say 'Burn Your Guitars' on this form they will burn all in their way 8/10"

Alternative Ulster

Garage punk with distorted bass and maniacal drumming by two riotus girls from Darlington who rejected everything they had begun to hate about being in bands and gelled together everything they loved about Punk, Rave & Hanging out with your best mate.

Belladonna spent 2009 writing & recording their debut album Hey Weirdo! at Trinity Heights in Newcastle with Fred Purser from cult Punk/New Wave bands Penetration and Tygers of Pan Tang.

The girls take late night practice sessions in a studio haunted by a violent female spectre who has been known to assault other bands but seems to have taken a shine to Belladonna so leaves them alone, occasionally tapping along in time.

Debut Single "Don't be Fooled By The Romace" is already getting spins on Radio 1, XFM (on Ian Camfields Rock Show) and Kerrang Radio. The Remix from Electro/Breaks act McQueen is getting heavy support from Annie Nightingale who charted the track in her Top 10 and Rennie Pilgrem gave the track 4/5 in IDJ Magazine.

Single "Don't be Fooled By The Romance" is released August 3rd 2009

Album "Hey Weirdo!" is released August 10th 2009

Single "We Are Your Diversity" is released November 23rd 2009, available through iTunes and CD Baby.
