With the assistance of Noel Davey and Jammy; Wayne Smith is known to have changed the history of Reggae with the computerized rhythm called "Sleng Teng". Wayne Smith was the one who found the computerized sound in the keyboard, and with the assistance of Noel Davey, composed the rhythm. Wayne Smith then slowed down the rhythm and matched it to a key that was most comfortable for him to sing on. At one point, while working on the rhythm, before taking it to Jammy; Wayne Smith and Noel Davey had lost the rhythm, but Noel Davey found it a few days later. After days of rehearsing on the rhythm, Wayne Smith and Noel Davey later brought it to Jammy Studio, at which time Jammy had just returned from over seas and was helpful in placing only a clap on the rhythm. At first, Jammy was a bit hesitant to release the song, upon the basis that it was too straight and different from the norm. The song was later played on Prince Jammy sound, and it mash up de dance. And from there, the song became number one all over the world, and Wayne Smith became the man who had changed the history of Reggae.
