WaX Project Laboratory

W.P.L aka Giulio Ascoli is an italian producer from Ancona. His first musical attempt began at the edge of eleven starting studying Drums and modern percussion. Beginning with Metal, crossover, punk and HC in late 1996 started his first attempts with elettro experimental music production trying to emulate huges names like Amon Tobin, SquarePusher and Aphex Twin.

In 2002 he discovered something he never heard before, a new powerfull and smashing kind of music fast but at the same time smooth and catchy, he discovered DNB music.

WaX's style is a mix of psychedelic traditional, religious, folk chants and arrangements from all over the world, mixed with soul, swing, complex atmospheres and jazzy drumming extravaganzas.

In 2007 W.P.L appeared on the Hamburg based label Destination Records with his first work "Black Lights", after a few months the American Corinthian Records release other two W.P.L's tunes "S.A.R.A" and "Organica".

In 2008 he appears on the Maztek's SubCulture Records with a solid tune "Navarone" on the "Neuropeptide EP".

In 2010 the Italian biggest label Modulate Recordings release another tune from W.P.L "Delirium Nocturnum" including it on the "Sweet side EP"

Now he is forthcoming on german Trust in Music Records and ak1200's Big Riddim Recordings waiting to release his latest works : West Ponente, Port of Call featuring Martina Jozwiak and Spyridon.

From 2004 he played around the country with the biggest Italian and some of the biggest international DnB names like : Aeph, Dabs, Axiom, Mathematics, Optiv, Logistics, Black Sun Empire, Fierce, Hallucinator, Maztek, Storm and so many others.
