Waxdolls has been busy filling clubs all around Europe for some years now. Their critically acclaimed debut album High Speed Killer Ride (2009) blended punky electrobeats with analogue synths, electric guitars and sexually explicit lyrics. The album was recorded at Temple Studios, Malta and produced by Luuk Cox (Shameboy). Renounced and hailed for their livesets, it's no wonder they were called "best Belgians" by 3voor12 (VPRO) that same year on Eurosonic. The album featured 3 videoclips: Chips, 15 Minutes and Spoiled Rich Bitches.
What followed was a rage around the Benelux and Europe with a lot of big shows (Pukkelpop, 5 Days Off, 10 Days Off, Dour Festival, .) and a lot of fun stories. Yes, Wim of Waxdolls sat on the birthday cake of Fedde Le Grand and no, it was not on purpose. Yes, the aerobic-mocky-dance instruction video Spoiled Rich Bitches was tweeted by Fred Durst and no, the boys do not wear that suit every show. And let's not forget the story about stagediving Lieven what resulted in a broken jaw. Guess who was surfing the crowd again two songs later?
After making some ace remixes for Wallace Vanborn (Atom Juggler), Aerotronic (Sex & Cigarettes) , Shameboy (Vultures) and Black Box Revelation (High On A Wire), they released the track Dingeling King (featuring Gloria) in April 2011. If you're speaking dutch, check out how Jan Mulder reviewed the clip. As if there wasn't already enough energy on stage, Waxdolls and Gloria decided to continue the collaboration on stage.
Waxdolls are working hard on their follow-up album, to be released in Autumn 2012. On April 30 the forthcoming single Brain Pop will be released, setting the direction for the new album. And as the track suggests: their beat won't stop till your brain pops!
