Geese at Gray Lodge - Pacific Flyway - 100,000 Birds - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 21, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Geese at Gray Lodge - Pacific Flyway. November 2012. A great day trip in the Sacramento Valley.
The sounds of the geese are reminiscent of a large crowd of people. Gray Lodge is a wetland habitat operated by the California Department of Fish and Game and is host to over a million birds on the Pacific Flyway migration. The best viewing season is October to February. Hunting is also managed in this area by Fish and Game in the wildlife area, but the sanctuary in the video is off limits to hunters. The birds seem aware of this congregating heavily in the sanctuary--until the food runs out or its time to get the flock out of here.
Happy Viewing, Dale
