WatchTower was formed in May 1982 in Austin, Texas. The lineup consisted of guitarist Billy White, drummer Rick Colaluca, bassist Doug Keyser and vocalist Jason McMaster. Originally a cover band, the years brought original material, and their sound evolved in a progressive direction. Influences range from progressive bands such as Rush to heavy metal of the time. They released two studio albums, Energetic Disassembly and Control And Resistance. Energetic Disassembly was released with the original lineup. For the second album, the lineup was changed a bit. Billy White left to pursue other musical directions, and was replaced by Ron Jarzombek. Jason McMaster left Watchtower to be full time with Dangerous Toys, and was replaced by Mike Soliz (from the band, Militia). Mike recorded one song and toured for a bit, but eventually left. Alan Tecchio, from the band Hades, replaced Mike Soliz for recording the album Control And Resistance. Since then, Demonstrations In Chaos was released. It is basically rare and unreleased material. Recently, plans were set for recording of a new album, titled Mathematics. Due to circumstances such as the recorded material being lost and band members having prior obligations, there is no immediate plan for Mathematics to be released. There may still be hope for Mathematics, but it's mot likely to be soon. All the past and present band members are involved in other projects.
