WARREN KURTISS

Warren Kurtiss was born on a hot summer day in New York City on July 5, 1982. He arrived into this world a month earlier then doctors and his parents had expected. For the month he had to stay in the hospital, the nurses in the baby center would sing and play Gospel music throughout the day. Having to stay in the hospital longer than anticipated allowed Warren to hear his first sounds of Gospel music. This opportunity to listen to the these sweet sounds would later inspire Warren to develop his own ability to sing and his passion for music.



At the age of three Warren moved to Paris, France. His parents had originally met in Paris and decided to move back. From a young age, even after leaving New York, his environment around him continued to guide him on his path to loving music. Growing up in one of the artistic capitals of the world gave Warren the opportunity to experience street performers, singers, and artists, all of whom would later inspire him.



Warren began playing the piano at the age of five, and at that moment in time, he was set on his journey to play music. Ten years later at the age of fifteen, during a private concert in Paris, he met a gospel group by the name of âSweetnessâ. Befriending the group after the show with his innocence, Warren persuaded the lead singer Stephan to come to his home once a week to give him singing lessons. Stephan as well as other members of the group, brothers Tiery and Piero, ended up coming to Warrenâs home for over two years, and to this day they are some of his closest friends.



After working with a multitude of production companies and studios in France, Warren became frustrated with the fact that they were leaving him little creative independence. He decided that it was time to move back to the USA. Here, he felt he would be able to find his artistic freedom. At the current age of 23, Warren moved to San Diego, California. Within the last year Warren has been working in his own studio developing, composing, and producing his owned style of hip-hop and R&B.
