Volturyon first saw the dawn of light in 2005 when long time friends Johan and Crille decided to start jamming together. They soon realized that the resulting material were too good not to form a proper band, thus Volturyon was born.
The band's first demo Forever Suffer was released in 2006. It consisted of four kick ass songs, which caught the interest of the German record company Obscure Domain Productions. The band was offered a one album deal.
In October 2007 Volturyon recorded their debut album, Blood Cure, in Black Lounge Studio with producer Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry, Centinex). It was released in January 2008 to positive reviews.
Following the release of the album, Volturyon hit the road and gave a lot of people stiff necks. A gig in Glasgow, Scotland in April 2008 was particularly memorable.
During the summer the band did some festival gigs: Sweden Rock, Peace and Love and also one gig in connection to the Metal Town festival in Gothenburg. The Sweden Rock gig was especially awesome since the band played for their biggest crowd yet, about 3000 people.
In September the band did a road trip through Europe and played in Germany, Belgium and France.
Later that year, Volturyon was set for a tour in Great Britain and Ireland. Unfortunately, due to illness, the band had to cancel the tour in the last minute.
In February/March 2009, Volturyon did a tour in Sweden together with Swedish band Godhate and Irish band Overoth and played eleven gigs in two weeks.
Then, with the Swedish tour barely finished, Volturyon hopped onto a plane and arrived in the UK for some shows in the London area and Manchester in England and Dundee in Scotland.
With all these gigs under their belt, Volturyon decided that it was time to concentrate on putting together songs for a new album. They spent the summer and fall writing and rehearsing new material which resulted in some kick ass songs that are on par with or even surpass those on the previous album.
In December 2009 the band once again returned to Black Lounge Studio and recorded their new songs with Jonas Kjellgren at the helm.
"Coordinated Mutilation", was released in February 2011 on the bands new label, United Guttural Records. The album was well received and Volturyon started to plan their assault on audiences throughout Europe.
A mini tour of Ireland in May 2011, with shows in Belfast, Portrush and Dublin, went over really well and later that month Volturyon was offered to join Swedish band Demonical on a tour throughout Eastern Europe in the fall.
Unfortunately, at that point Olle decided to leave the band and Volturyon was left without a lead singer. But as luck would have it, Alex Högbom from fellow death metal band Spasmodic came to the rescue and joined Volturyon as their new vocalist.
Volturyon is set to go out on tour with Demonical in October/November 2011, and wreck havoc in Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany and Denmark
