VOICE KILLAZ

Voice Killaz (Mata Voces) is a group of two lyricists, with fire in their eyes, and passion and hunger to strive to be successful in the music world. Eduardo Garcia known as Mr. Ledi and Rafael Rodriguez known as MC Alex are both young ambitious men trying to make their voice, message, and music heard through the fusion of urban beats and Latin resonance.

Eduardo and Rafael both come from very large families and are cousins who grew up in Manati, Puerto Rico. Their family has always been the foundation for them to strive and succeed in the music business. Their family is strong, supportive, and a great provider of creative input. They have made them tough and unafraid to face obstacles or criticisms in this treacherous industry. Just as family has influenced their goal, their love for music has been their religion.

Each recalls every awakening morning at home filled with the sound of the airwaves tuned to merengue, salsa, cumbia, bomba and plena. Both Eduardo and Rafael have about 7 to 8 siblings, so music was also a way to escape from the insanity of a house filled with brothers, sisters, and cousins.

To break away from the mundane routine and a chaotic household, Eduardo began to write down his thoughts. It inspired him to write his life activities, which then evolved to street driven lyrics of poverty and precarious images experienced on a day-by-day basis. He wrote about his greatest desires, and of situations that his mind would take him too. His thoughts formed into verses that he would then start rehearsing.

On one of his trips to the studio he met a group named World Premiere. He was able to spit a few verses on one of their tracks.

That was the day Eduardo became Mr. Ledi World Premiere liked

his lines so much they decided to use it on their album. That day he realized that his greatest desire was to become an artist.

Once Rafael heard the track where Mr. Ledi (his cousin) was featured, he wanted to do just the same. He decided he would learn all about music and follow in the footsteps of Mr. Ledi. This is when MC Alex was born, and the creation of Voice Killaz was alive.

Just before Voice Killaz decided to leave Puerto Rico they began to listen to a new sound of music called Reggaeton. Looking up to artists such as Tempo, Eddie D, and Vico C, some of the founders of such body moving beats, would also influence their music.

Once in New York, their momentum picked up and they started to perform in numerous venues. Going to the studio became an everyday ritual. On one of their trips they met Ney NeyFlava Pimentel the president and co-founder of LatinFlava (Latino website/TV show turned Label), which is now Clavo Music. He was amazed at their sound and their music. It was a fusion of gangsta rap, hip-hop, and Reggaeton and once NeyFlava let his partner MickeyMac hear the demo they gave them a record deal.

Since then, they have been featured in the infamous Chosen Few El Documental. Music has taken heed of their lives and is their 1 priority. They eat, breathe, and sleep for music. Yet, they still work as struggling musicians, working during the day, and recording at night to get their album Los Reales out into the market. They are hungry and yearning for success. They believe all of their hard work and faith will get them to spread their music out to the masses.
