Cristina “VISION” Cardona was born and raised in Los Angeles until the age of 13 years old when she and her family then moved to San Diego California.

"VISION" aka "VISION COMPLEX THE OFFICIAL FEMALE EMCEE" has put years in the underground music game and paid plenty of dues. She has earned the official female emcee title again and again. To hear Vision or to see her perform, one can truly feel why she is deserving of the name.

Like many of us childhood for Vision was everything but easy. Soon after she was born her father, Xavier would pass on leaving Vision's mother to raise Vision and her older brother alone. The three of them would live close to poverty for the majority of Vision's childhood.

Living in rough areas as a child and moving constantly through out her adolescence gave Vision a chance to see things that most people would not normally be exposed to, the pains of the world.

During that time Vision grew very fond of soul music. Looking back on those times today, she adds “I understand why I was so drawn to that particular style and those particular artists during that time (Marvin Gaye/Tina Turner), because the pain in which they sang I could relate to it”.

Eventually Vision's family would pull out of poverty but the images and all that her family had gone through in the earlier years left a heavy impression on Vision's heart. Life at that point for Vision could have taken a very different turn but she had a strong desire to prove that no matter what we as people have been through, no matter where we come from, we can still survive and overcome what we feel is holding us back and that desire would come out years later in the form of music.

At the age of 11, Vision's brother BIG E bought his first keyboard an “ESONIQ 76” - Vision recalls with a smile. “He started producing beats” from that day on, Vision found and pursued her calling. She began rapping and combining her singing talents and deep heartfelt street lyrics to create her own soulful sound. Vision's music, every song every beat and every word is dedicated to those caught in the struggle.

On her own, as a solo artist Vision created a company i.e. GRIMM STYLE MUSIK (grimm like the reaper) and a movement. She was one of the very 1st underground Hispanic female rappers on the West Coast. She has constantly toured and performed for thousands of fans. She has been a featured performer on the LOWRIDER Magazine tours the last two years in a row. She is featured on countless mixtapes, albums, local and national hip hop magazines and variety shows. Vision has been HIRED to open concerts for several national acts including; Bone Thugs n Harmony, Three Six Mafia, Hi-C & Suga free, Nick Cannon, Crooked I, Ying Yang Twins, Baby Bash, Snoop Dog, Cypress Hill, Crown City Rocker, Spice 1, and many more.

VISION’s 2009 street album “C’est la Vie/This Is Life” was released on her on her own lable GrimmStyle Musik and is available on ITUNES. C’est la Vie features all original content from: The Pharcyde, Abstract Rude, Ecay Uno, Lil Al and Steve Vicious.

Her current Project titled (( STREET SCIENCE - Lessons in Survival )) is a mixtape / street exclusive joint venture with producer West Coast Roc Battle Champ: Miklo Sanchez, Street Science will be released early 2010.

With the realest street lyrics and the best produced beats to match, Vision is a prodigy of all those enduring the hardships of life with a voice to be heard.

Catch Vision on the rise in your city and on the stage. With her drive and determination, one can guarantee it.
