VIPER RECORDINGS HISTORY:

Viper Recordings is a drum & bass label which was founded in 2003 by Futurebound & Jaquan, based out of Liverpool, UK.

Since being formed, Viper Recordings has steadily established itself as one of the most consistent Drum & Bass labels around. The very first single- Futurebound and Jaquan's 'Blind Cobbler's Thumb'- won massive support from the likes of Andy C, Adam F, DJ Hype, and many more, setting the threshold for all that was to come.

This was followed by releases from established acts such J Majik and Wickaman, Baron, and Moving Fusion, as well as material from newer producers such Probe and Sylo, Entity and State Of Mind. More recently the label has attracted a wealth of young, up-and-coming producers such as The Brookes Brothers, T-Phonic, Sigma and Australia's ShockOne.

Spring 2007 saw the release Viper's first LP, the incredible 'Universal Truth' album by Matrix & Futurebound. Believed by many to be the best D&B album of the year, it featured the massive singles 'Knite Riderz' (feat. MC Spyda), 'Universal Truth', and the earth-shattering anthem 'American Beauty VIP'. Described by Pete Tong as "the biggest thing in the drum and bass arena" and by Knowledge Magazine as "a stark lesson in how to do things properly", this album is quite simply essential.

Since then, Viper Recordings has always stayed ahead of the curve putting out releases from the best up & coming talent, long before they ever gained the massive exposure they would later receive. Releases from the Brookes Brothers, Sigma, Shock One, DC Breaks, Camo & Krooked, and Metrik, and Furlonge are just a few examples of the diverse roster which Viper Recordings has established.

2009 was a breakthrough year for Viper Recordings, first with the absolutely massive 'Shock One EP', which featured the Radio1 hit 'Polygon' which was endlessly dropped by the likes of Zane Lowe & Annie Mac. As well, Viper and Shock One's first forray into the world of dubstep with the experimental track 'Adichigahara's Theme', which stayed atop the Beatport charts at 1 for weeks straight and gained huge support from Nerm & D-Code on BBC Radio1's Electro East.

This was followed by Viper's biggest project to date, the compilation album 'Acts Of Mad Men'. The 1 album went onto be crowned Radio1's first drum & bass 'Album Of The Week' on Zane Lowe's show, as well as being recognized as Album of The Month in Mixmag. The album featured some of the biggest tracks of the year, including Nero's massive party anthem, 'Do You Wanna', as well as the two huge remixes by Ed Rush & Optical on Sigma's 'Hi Top', and Shock One's remix of 'Crackdown' by the Brookes Brothers.

2010 has been another huge year for Viper Recordings. With huge EPs from DC Breaks with the 'Halo EP', as well as 'The Headroom EP' featuring Delta Heavy, Matrix & Futurebound, InsideInfo, and Camo & Krooked. Viper also released their first digital compilation album 'Drum & Bass Summer Slammers 2010', as well as Furlonge's debut single, 'This Love', and to finish off the year Metrik's breakthrough 'The Departure EP' featuring 'T-1000', 'The Arrival', 'Learn To Fly', and 'The Departure'. Things aren't set to slow down in 2011 either as Viper already has more huge EPs coming from Camo & Krooked and Smooth, as well as LPs from ShockOne and Matrix & Futurebound. Don't bat an eye, Viper is on the rise!
