VINCENZO ARTIST BIO
Vincenzo is a 26 year old artist originally from Stevenage. He has been writing lyrics and rapping for 12 years, although began his career at the age of 5, reciting lyrics that his father had him rap to friends and family on occasions.
"My name is papa junior, I'm an mc, my mummy's name's Elaine and my daddy's called Vinny".
I guess you could say he has never looked back since. Growing up Vincenzo moved several times including to Enfield, Holloway Road, Stockwell, Forest Gate, Old Street & of corse finally Stevenage. Vincenzo had a football career in his hands too, playing for Cambridge United & Peterborough United. However his passion for music became the clear winner, and he swapped his goals and took a different path. Inspired by the likes of Bob Marley, Will Smith, 2Pac, DMX & MJ. Vincenzo, despite the lack of faith around him, continued to write, record and perform his tracks. Originally named Vinny-B, Vincenzo was performing with One2One, a crew formed by friends and family and later with Alliance Crew, a huge gathering group of again friends and family. Alliance Crew played a massive role in Vincenzo's music passion. They performed in Stevenage and Bedford with Roll Deep & Nasty Crew. They attended local radio sets and along the way picked up a huge fanbase.
Vincenzo was the first member of Alliance Crew to leave to prepare and release his independent music. He started on his first album "Unknown" in 2003, selling the c.d.'s on the streets and also in independent records stores. He sold over 500 copies and got to work on his second album, the sequel "Unknown Vol. 2" in 2004, selling over 700 copies online and also sold in Virgin Megastores.
He then with his friend (also an artist) Archie, created "Septic Science", a creative group of young males, together they recorded tracks and performed live gigs. Vincenzo aka Vinny-B at those times, then released a third album, "The Chronicles Of Vinny" in 2006, again selling on the streets.
In 2007 Vincenzo formally Vinny-B changed his name to Vincenzo officially. He believed it was time to change his attitude, music, lyrics and general life style. As before his lyrics and music were quite dark and serious, as was his life, he wanted to show his versatility as well as give young people an artist to look up to and be inspired by.
Vincenzo - meaning 'The Conquerer', had a fresh new frame of mind.
He worked for a youth organization called M.B.A Association, being a mentor to the young people in the local areas around Stevenage. He organized and released a new Mixtape and Documentary named "My Way Of Life Is A Better Way Of Living". Taking over six months it was finally finished in summer 2008. The Mixtape and documentary on discs received a huge response from Vincenzo's fans and proved to him that the changes he had made were indeed the right ones. After "My Way Of Life Is A Better Way Of Living" Vincenzo released an EP "Shockwave" in 2010 as a free download, for fans on the internet.
It was then in 2011 he signed a record deal with an independent label, 'Flipside Label LTD' / G.A.N.G Records (Great Artists Never Give up). Vincenzo signed onto the label as an artist but also is a part of the company, as Artist Development Manager, for 'The Pride Entertainment', guiding a group of progressing artists towards the right paths in the music industry. He is currently working on his fourth album "Welcome To The Lyonz Den" due to be released through the label.
