With tracks consisting of slows, ballads but also tougher songs, Ursheys music is mostly pop-rock styled with sounding peculiarities.

While the guitars bring a song to the limits of metal style, the sweetness of the voice and the precision of the others instruments brings the counterbalance for a subtle melodic stability.



Born in 2002 out of the ashes of a heavy metal project, the sound of Urshey has grown organically through meetings of like minds. The project originated with Jean-Philippe's guitar and Xavier's bass. Along the way, they ran into Valérie. Quickly, she became the voice of the band and steered it towards a pop pier sound. The trio then brought in Stan (drums), and Sara (keyboards). The quintet then devoted some time to finding its own musical niche, aiming to break free of clichés and stereotypes. Then came some concerts and work on a short film with TV station Canal Plus. Talent spotted in 2006, by record producers well established in the Belgian musical world, the group signed up for its first recorded work. 2007 is sure to be a big year for Urshey who are now all set to give live audiences a taste of what they have got to offer on stage.

Né en 2002 sur les cendres d’un projet métal, le son d’Urshey s’est enrichit au gré de diverses rencontres. A l’origine, le projet repose sur la guitare de Jean-Philippe et la basse de Xavier. En chemin, les deux compagnons rencontrent Valérie. Rapidement, celle-ci devient le porte-voix du groupe et oriente le répertoire d’Urshey vers des contrées plus pop. Le trio s’entoure alors de Sara (claviers), puis de Stan (drums) . Le quintet s’attache un temps à définir les contours de sa personnalité musicale, cherchant à dépasser d’incurables clichés. S’ensuivent quelques concerts et une collaboration avec Canal+ sur un court métrage. Remarqué en 2006 par des producteurs bien ancrés dans le monde musical belge, le groupe signe la coproduction de son premier opus. 2007 est donc une année phare pour Urshey, bien décidé à faire partager son riche univers sur scène.

Ontstaan in 2002, uit een ietwat uitgedoofde metalproject, groeit de sound van Urshey verrijkt door verschillende invloeden.



Oorspronkelijk bestond dit project uit Jp (gitaar) en Xavier (basgitaar) maar gaandeweg sloot Valérie zich bij hen aan. Binnen afzienbare tijd wordt zij de leading lady om de groep naar meer gangbare popmuziek te leiden.

Bij dit trio sluiten Stan (drums) en Sara (toetsen) zich aan.

Nu de groep volledig is, zoeken ze zich een weg in de muziekwereld zonder hun identiteit te verliezen.

Op korte tijd volgen een paar concerten en een samenwerking met Canal+. Opgemerkt in 2006 door «die hard» producers in de belgische muzikale wereld, tekenen zij de coproductie van hun eerste cd.

2007 is hét jaar waar Urshey wil zich waarmaken in de muziekwereld en op het podium.
