Uncle Shaker

Born in the far north east corner of Massachusetts.



"I have been writing and playing music as long as I can remember. My Uncle Shaker had an amazing record collection that I devoured as a kid. In particluar the records of Hank Williams, Buddy Holly, the Beatles, the Stones, the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Neil Young all became, and remain the foundation of my song writing style. I formed the Uncle Shaker Band with my favorite songwritier and colloborator, Barry Oates and some amazing musicians (Jeff Timperi on Trumpet and Vicent Mcarthy on harp, sax and clarinet). We were an eclectic mix of influences and music was raw, real and at the root of well crafted Americana songwriting. The band dispersed in 2007 but we made a hell of an album You can purchase our one and only record at CD Baby or iTunes.



My songs represent my life and experiences. I make sure they have truth and tell a story. The good songs come to me at times like rain during a monsoon. Sometimes the words surprise me, sometimes they reaffirm and other times they make no sense at all (or do they). They are raw truth in the moment that I write them; my reality and my experience.
