Tyler Johnson

DJ Tyler Johnson has been a mainstay in the Vancity nightlife scene for the better part of the last two decades. With a sound that has influenced a city and turned dance floors on there ear weekend after weekend he's earned residencies with top event promotions companies, djing with the "who's who" of global DJ talent. In the last five years Tyler has turned his keen eye for detail and funky dance floor sensabilties towards music production landing him a deal with Tony Thomas' Cubic Records UK imprint.
Moving to Vancouver in 97' from a small mountain town in northern British Columbia Canada, Tyler quickly got a taste for DJing and was hired at his first record shop, the now legendary Futuristic Flavour. Under the mentoring of luminary DJ/producer Jay Tripwire, TJ was able to parlay his passion for electronic music delivered in the form of vinyl into over ten years of stocking shelves for some of the most important underground record shops Vancouver.
Around 98' his first gigging experiences came courtesy of his brother, an early Vancity event promotions pioneer. Sharing the stage at raves and nightclubs with some of the worlds most talented crowd movers TJ was able to craft a unique style setting himself apart from the hoards of DJ's arriving near the start of the millennium, earning guest spots at in clubs in London, Mexico, Asia and the US. Currently Tyler Holds down a residency with Vancouver's www.blueprintevents.ca djing at the global hot spots Celebrities Nightclub and Gorg-O-Mish Afterhours.
