Cyril Niccolai - singer, songwriter, guitarist and star of numerous hit French musicals - is an accomplished French indie rock artiste. His single, “No Love Around“, has affirmed his reputation as an exceptional singer with a warm and expressive voice and as an inspired songwriter. Cyril is now working on his debut album with acclaimed British producer Jim Lowe.

Highly sought after as a songwriter, Cyril also writes songs and produces albums for major European singers

and for movies. Despite his busy schedule, he makes it a point to regularly go on tour with his band to bring his distinctive style of rock music directly to audiences.

In the last two years, Cyril has performed in countries as diverse as China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan,

Singapore and the United States.

While music is now central to his life, Cyrilʼs entry into his music career was serendipitous. The son of medical

doctors, he was set to follow in the footsteps of his parents. However, Bon Joviʼs 1992 hit song “Keep the

Faith“ roused the latent musical talent in the young Cyril when he first heard it on the radio. Initially juggling his

medical studies with music, he toured in the United States with various bands as a singer and guitarist when

he was in his teens.

The watershed in Cyrilʼs music career occurred in 2001 when he was invited to audition for the part of the poet

Gringoire in “Notre Dame de Paris“, the wildly successful French musical by Luc Plamondon and Richard Cocciante that has enthralled millions of international audiences in more than a dozen countries. Against much stiff competition, Cyril was handpicked by

Plamondon and Cocciante for this role which gave him the impetus to embark onto a full time career in music.

Cyril has since then appeared in more than 300 performances of “Notre Dame de Paris“ in Europe and Asia.

His success in that role presented him with numerous offers in other musicals and in 2002, he was entrusted by

Plamondon to take on a new role, Ricky, in Plamondonʼs latest musical, “Cindy – Cendrillon“. Cyril also caught

the attention of prominent French musical composer Grard Presgurvic, who was assembling the cast for his

French musical “Autant en emporte le vent“, based on Margaret Mitchellʼs “Gone with the Wind“. Presgurvic

found his ideal Ashley Wilkes in Cyril, who has performed that role in more than 200 performances in Europe since the premiere in September 2003.

In 2006, Presgurvic once again turned to Cyril to fill the role of Benvolio, Romeoʼs cousin and best friend, in his

new production of “Romeo et Juliette“, the hit French musical which has performed to millions in 11 countries.

With nearly 200 performances already in South Korea and Taiwan, Cyril is returning as Benvolio in “Romeo et Juliette” in Paris in February 2010.

While musicals continue to be in his repertoire, Cyrilʼsprimary focus is now on his solo career and on his passion for songwriting. In particular, he seeks to bring his music directly to audiences through live performances with his band in his native France and on tour around the world.

Performances in 2008 include those during the inaugural Formula One Singapore Grand Prix, his maiden concerts at the Esplanade in Singapore and KBS Hall in Seoul, and opening for American alternative rock bands in the United States.

In March 2009, Cyril successfully completed his Hard Rock Asian Tour of seven countries over two weeks to

benefit various charitable organisations as part of Hard Rockʼs March on Stage event, the annual global live music series presented by Hard Rock International featuring high calibre iconic artists as well as some of

the hottest emerging musicians and bands.

In the summer of 2009, Cyril opened for Keaneʼs Perfect Symmetry Tour Asia 2009 and did several fund-raising

gigs in conjunction with Hard Rockʼs Ambassadors of Rock global concert series.

Cyrilʼs great love for music originated in his childhood

and he makes no secret of the fact that music is for him an addiction. From the time he wrote his first song at the age of 15, Cyril has been working continuously to develop and evolve his own distinctive style of rock

music.

His travels around the world enable him to meet new people, explore new horizons and are an important source of inspiration for his music. They have also given him the opportunity to indulge in his passion for musical

instruments, with a particular emphasis on guitars. This has resulted through the years in a collection of more than 30 guitars from all over the world.

Connecting with new audiences firsthand worldwide has

also laid the groundwork for Cyrilʼs new album. And with his natural gift to bond with audiences and the sheer joy that he derives from being with them, Cyrilʼs performances always provide fresh and spontaneous

entertainment to his audiences as well as himself.

Cyril is now in the thick of preparations for his debut album and come spring 2010 will be in the recording studios alongside producer Jim Lowe, who has worked with a diverse array of artistes including The Stereophonics, Foo Fighters, The Servant and Taylor Swift.
