tsuki

is one of the five strikes in kendo (along with men, do, hidari kote and

migi kote). It is a point thrust toward the neck, aiming at cutting a carotid

artery. In combat with a live blade, the opponent would then bleed to death.

Unlike

most other martial arts that use this term, in kendo, tsuki is a comprehensive

term that also designates the movement, the target, and the protection that

covers the throat.

. . . so who are tsuki

lala ?

Tsuki Lala

are two individuals that write and produce quality, quality music

(yes!).

They have a unique sense of style. Infused quirky

ideas in original lyrics, are delivered with smooth

and soulful vocals. One used to clip her toenails while teaching students

ho

w to sing. The other is slightly unstable and has a scar on every limb of his body. Indie electronica meets modern soul.

Fans of Zero 7, Jill Scott, and Air might like this. Or not.

The long story (oh-oh!):

There is something about the new world that breeds great storytellers… In the roaring twenties prior to the depression, the new world was America with masses migrating for a new, better and more exciting life. Now that trend is repeating in other parts of the world and there are stories to be told, some great, some implausible, and some simple but devastating. Tsuki Lala are there, and the characters in their songs talk of the desire to live the impossible dream in this new world.

.But while the stories are in the lyrics, the feeling is in the music. Tsuki Lala, have a sound, that could be completely acoustic, or completely electronic and still give you a good feeling. In fact, the fusion of acoustic guitars, vocals, beats and cosmic production takes you to a weird place that feels real nice. You forget to care whether you’re listening to electronica, folk or jazz, or whether you’re even listening.

.have you

been funny lately? Have you been bad?

have you

been up all night? You look mad.

Prior to Tsuki Lala,

Ralphski and Kristie Glab, were already producing and releasing music in the underground electronic scene. Between them, they have signed 12” releases with labels such as London’s Black Vinyl, Grab Recordings US, Greenhouse Soul , Renegade Recordings and Detroit’s Kolour Recordings.

Kristie Glab is the talented one, what you would call a natural, while Ralphski is the producer with a scientific approach.

They are currently working on a bunch of material under the umbrella name “The glamorous world of running alone”. Enjoy their story.

.take what you can, cause it won't be here for

long. They all go so fast - those pretty houses by the sea.
