Webster’s Dictionary defines Trump as “a card of a designated suit who will win over a card of any other suit.” This definition also fits the description of North Carolina hip-hop artist Trump.



Known for his ability to dominate any track with his unique word play and extraordinary swagger, this Hickory, North Carolina emcee has proven to be victorious in both life and music. His unwavering love for music and hip-hop started at an early age, rhyming over instrumentals he bought with allowance money. Even then, Trump had the foresight and artistic ability to share his music with the world.

This talent and work ethic carried on with him well into his high school years performing at North Carolina area talent shows and eventually helping form the group Paradox, also known as North Carolina’s finest.



While moving away to start his first year of college, Trump continued his grind. He went on to collaborate with Carl “Red” Brown under the alias “SupaStarz” and recorded a 16-track album in less than a month.

Trump’s musical meticulousness didn’t stop there. He went on to team up with and produce other Hickory area emcees in the “In Da Trunk” mixtape series, and soon after, Trump released his critically acclaimed Commercial/ Underground mixtape. “Commercial/Underground is hands down the best local mixtape released this year – it’s a street classic,” says one East Carolinian Featured writer- 2004.



Before graduating from college Trump continued to submerge the streets of NC with mixtape gems including Hood’s Favorite & Most Hated (with partner in crime Broadway) and the DJ Smallz hosted banger Hate it or Get It.

He’s performed in many cities in states such as South Carolina; Georgia, Virginia, and all over North Carolina. His notoriety and increasing fan base (including over thousands of Myspace friends and over 50,000 plays) has not caused him to slow his grind down at all.

The 25 year old emcee states:

“I do it all from recording and mixing down my own material to distributing and networking with all these people in the industry myself. Sleep is in the backseat to this grind of mine Ya Dig?”



Trump’s been on an abundance of mixtapes hosted by many of the regions award winning Dj’s like: Dj Smallz, DJ Scream, DJ Pillzbury, DJ Kutta, Dutty Laundry, DJ Black Bill Gates, MLK and many more. His tracks have also appeared on several television shows such as: MTV’s Rob and Big, CBS’s CSI Miami and AMC’s Series Breaking Bad.

Trump aka Mr. 40 West also continues to rep the streets by promoting and hosting parties with the help of his promotional team New Money Entertainment to bring in major artist and allow local artists to be the opening act.

His grind doesn’t stop there, with two full length albums on deck. “I Love My Life” and “Talk to Me” (coming soon along with the DVD). It’s safe to say the world hasn’t heard the last of North Carolina’s Ace, appropriately named: Trump.
