Truly Lover Trio is one of the premium Rockabilly combos worldwide. They have performed at some of the greatest Rockabilly festivals in the world: Hemsby (2009), the Rockabilly Rebel Weekend in Indianapolis (1996 and 1998), Viva Las Vegas (2003, 2004 and 2010), the Screamin' Festival in Spain (2005), The D-day Festival in Holland (2005), Midsommar Jamboree in Sweden (2005), My Way Jamboree in Finland (2005), Sjock in Holland, and more.
If we had to describe their music, we would say it is pure Rock and Roll, Rockabilly, and a touch of Roy Orbison. Marcel's vocals are often compared to the sound of early Roy with chilling results (in 2009 they played at the 20th Annual Roy Orbison Festival in Wink, TX). They have performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the 11th Annual American Masters Series honoring Roy Orbison, which was headlined by Glen Campbell, Raul Malo, Billy Burnette, and The Crickets.
In January 2008, the boys were a part of the Roy Orbison Tribute Weekend that took place at the Tempe Center for The Arts in Arizona. They played the music of Roy Orbison to a sell-out audience.
A debut 45rpm EP called “Lonely Blue Dreams” was released on Sunset Records (101) in 1998 and it’s now a very collectible rare item. Since then, they have released 4 albums – “Hey Little Girl,” “Dance,”“Dig It, Baby, Dig It,” and the latest one - the rockin’ “Bullseye” (Twinkletone Records 104, 2010).
"Hey Little Girl" features some of the first successful attempts at songwriting, and from that album, "Blueberry Eyes" and "Forever Is Not For Us" have become favorites at every show. While "Dance" was an incursion into early 1960s Rock and Roll (Bear Family Records says: "Outstanding disk from California! The voice of Marcel and the arrangements, reminds so much of the great Roy Orbison - Goose skin guaranteed! Highlight!"), "Dig It, Baby, Dig It" was a return to the roots, still portraying some great original tracks ("Party Baby," "Let's Go Out Tonight," just to name two). "Dig It" also features a rare Roy Orbison track recorded at the Center For The Arts in Tempe, Arizona.
“Bullseye” was recorded live in the studio and the power of the band comes across loud and clear. Strong back-beat and solid bass stand behind some cool and assertive vocals. At the same time, all the original tracks also contribute to the unique style of Truly Lover Trio (out of the 17 titles on the album, only 3 are covers). Gems like "Twice Sorry," "Blue For You," "The Truth," and "Stranger" will leave you wanting more. Rockers like "Bullseye" and "Do The Bop" will get you off the chair.
2011 brings TLT back to Europe and there were some great shows in the USA too. So, do not miss one of the finest sounds around. Like a wise man once said: “If you ever get a chance, grab it!” After you see them, or hear them, you'll also be yellin' MORE, MORE, MORE!
