THE EMTRO GOSPEL STORY

The word Emtro is a combination of the first names of Grammy-nominated gospel singer/producer Troy Sneed and his wife, Emily. After a decade in the music business where Troy recorded for Savoy Records and coached the Georgia Mass Choir during their success with Whitney Houston’s double-platinum The Preacher’s Wife movie soundtrack, Troy and Emily stepped out in faith in 2003 and started Emtro from their Jacksonville, FL home. The Sneeds were displeased with the promotion of Sneed’s CDs and put their money where their mouths were. Emily maintained two jobs to pay the bills while Sneed circled the country visiting radio stations and pushing retailers to stock CDs by his artists and the rest is history.

Their first CD was Youth for Christ’s Love Comes in All Colors followed by projects by L. Spenser Smith, Pastor Rudolph McKissick, Terri McConnell and Sneed’s own State of Worship project. While those projects sold respectably, the label didn’t really begin to take off until their surprise hit with Sneed leading Top 20 smash “The Right Place” on Pastor Rudolph McKissick’s CD of the same name in 2005.

Since then, the independent label has astounded the gospel music industry by placing an amazing eight songs in the Top 20 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel chart within two years - including Youth for Christ’s Stellar-award winning smash “The Struggle is Over” which remained 1 for a dozen weeks.

Now, Emtro Gospel is beginning a new chapter with the launch of T Records.

ABOUT TROY SNEED

Troy Sneed was integrally and intimately involved in creating the music on Whitney Houston’s double-platinum “Preacher’s Wife” soundtrack through his coaching of the Georgia Mass Choir which did the backing vocals on the project. He was the producer of the Top 5 gospel singles “Right Place” (Rudolph McKissick), “All Night” (Alvin Darling) and the 1 (12 weeks straight) Billboard gospel single smash, “The Struggle is Over” (Youth for Christ) – all released on his Emtro Gospel recording label. Sneed also shines as an artist with his latest single, the rousing “Hallelujah” which has peaked at 3 and lingered on for 30 weeks on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart.

Sneed continues this pattern of success with his latest presentation of Bonafide Praisers and the “Destined to Worship” project scheduled for release on February 12, 2008. After realizing the impact the Struggle is Over” (Youth for Christ) had on the nation through the outpouring of emails, and phone calls relaying heartfelt testimonies of listeners being touched directly by the spirit of God after hearing the song, Sneed decided to again ask God for another message for His people. “In today’s times gospel music needs to speak to people where they are”, states Sneed.

Similar in concept to the renowned Youth For Christ, Bonafide Praisers is a concept artist. The first recording was done in Jacksonville, Florida. However, Sneed’s vision is to go to a different city each year in search of true Bonafide Praisers and record. The first single from “Destined to Worship” is “Work It Out”. It is a true definitive introduction of the full CD, giving power to those that have relationship with Christ and understanding to those that desire that bond. Sneed, of course, hopes for even more success with this project, (the single’s early radio airplay has been phenomenal), however he prays for a healing of God’s people through praise.
