Troops Of Mafeking

Troops of Mafeking (maff-a-king, if you will!) are a mighty gulp of fresh air hitting the scene with a full frontal mentality. Their performances will leave you so gripped, I could picture a boa constrictor looking for a new career. Based in Alsager, the four-piece have been evolving for three years and are continually banging bin lids and strumming your great aunt’s handbag to supply you with some of their best material to date. Their refreshingly crisp mix of frivolous sounds and undemonstrative manner make Troops fun to be around and even better to witness on stage. It’s only going to be a matter of time before Troops of Mafeking are a household name. As a live band, Troops of Mafeking have a certain sharpness and talented delivery unrivalled by other bands. Sam’s intense vocal power leaves nothing to the imagination and is as quenching to the ears as a cold glass of pineapple juice in the Sahara. Asked about Troops’ awe-inspiring form live, Josh described their performances ever so elegantly; “It’s just a slice of the genius pie we’re cooking”. The Troops are moving in.
