.so i really left my band MYKA-SHYNE, (signed with Beggars Banquet) with Androgynous-Adam and MoonGyrl when they started to play shit-like Hard-Fi and My Chemical-Fuckin Romance .- total lack of creativity - then the drummer left and i thought fuck-it ! wanna do something more creative and dynamic music-wise. Walked out of a record deal to do my own thang !
I'm, TREIJA by the way - pronounced 'Tray-Yaaa' (unlike how a certain Radio 1 DJ pronounces me!) I'm from da Costa Del Peckham - that's 'Sarf London' innit tho! - the place has Sun, Sea, and Primark - i do spend a considerable amount of time hangin' around West Coast California though.

Moo-sick-wise, I define my sound as dynamicalternative power-pop a bit quirky. leftfield and 'sticky-static'. Sometimes it's happy-hippy-go-lucky and , sometimes VERY dark and serious basically just mish-mash it all up. .
An ex BRIT School student, I’m a classically trained musician and producer/guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist and songwriter (phew! there's a mouthful!). Originally, a songwriter/composer for the 1995 Eurovision song entry ‘Love City Groove’, which charted at 17 in the UK Charts I’ve had a lot of interest from people wanting me to pen songs for them. So. Went and nabbed myself a major publishing deal…as such I’m now in the process of establishing myself as a creative songwriter.
Going to music school from a very young age has taught me to realise the art of songcraft - the use of diatonic modes and perfect cadences to evoke emotion and to write the best songs possible, using my inspiration pared with proven craftsmanship.
My influences are sooo messed up right now. Delving from extreme thrash metal to electropop to indie-hop (indie hiphop) that there are NOOO boundaries in the musical style i create. To this end, as well as promoting my own unique sound as a recording artist i have been inundated with requests to Mix/Remix and produce artists working in places from Nagoya, Japan to Minneapolis.
I am a member of PRS (UK), the Songwriters Guild of UK/Europe, PPL, and Songwriters Association International. Have pitched a number of tracks, and had some of my tracks recorded by some well-known artists. As a songwriter, I understand the artist perspective of needing great songs for a great performance and connection with an audienceand for other artists/bands out there looking to freshen up their sound. but please note:

RECORD INDUSTRY BACKGROUND
I used to work as a PR for PolyGram/Universal doing their dogsbody work (ahem !!! sticky promo-releases anyone?!?!) and i'm pleased to say (not!) that i was one of many responsible for bringing Hanson to the UK (remember them?) and then worked with the band Texas promoting their 'White On Blonde' album, and quirky Deptford 90's girl band 'Alisha's Attic' (aaah.memories!)
After a featured spot on a Los Angeles radio station (Core-X) i was invited to play a gig at skate beach party in Santa Monica to rave reviews. Whilst in Los Angeles, and due to popular demand, i released my first album - an EP promo release called ‘La La Land’ to initially test the water. Since its release in August 2008, ‘La La Land’ has proved quite a success on iTunes alone, with practically little or no marketing support.

Trying to finish writing my novel - the story of a young boy and a mute alien hybrid girl uncover a secret alien invasion - extracting the life essence of a weak alien life-form to power the new human technology of mind control and psychic warfare. If you like Area 57 conspiracy theories, you'll love this book im writing.It's called 'The Ursula Seed' and i was dropping Acid when i conceived the idea and really did think asexual aliens were among us !!!anyway the story has such a mind-blowing twist i'd better keep verrrry fuckin shtum about it. - But i promise there will be a full website where u can read excerpts verrrryy sooon BUT, first, the music.
