- If you look closely, you will notice that there is NO period (.) after the Z in my middle name. It is JUST Z .It does not stand for anything. That is actually my middle name "Z". My consistent main interest is creating a particular Fusion Art of Surrealism, Science Fiction (Philip K. Dick/Dune/Asimov/old Star Trek) Asian/Middle Eastern folk music, African percussion, improvisation, electronic/acoustic "noise" and Bowie/Eno influenced New Wave. Both in look and sound. I always felt that for ME to create the type of visual and audible art that I wanted that I would have to BE art as well. My hair, face and clothing is the result of painting and sculpture. Painting your face is no different than painting a canvas to ME. Sculpting geometrical shapes with your hair is to ME, sculpture. When I have finished doing this each morning. THEN I am ready to do theatre, art and muzik. If it sounds pretentious it really isn't THAT much different than the Rodeo Cowboy that feels obligated to don a pair of leather chaps, pointed boots and a cowboy hat before he can climb on a horse and lasso up a small calf in front of hundreds of people. It is not that he CANNOT do this amazing feat of roping, bullying, tying up and then dragging this tiny threatening calf to its death in front of a cheering crowd-in fact, I don't know WHY the hell I dress funny.
