From that moment in 1991 when he won a talent show in Ocho Rios, Jamaica he had the amazing ability to convey the message in a song in such a way, he captures the attention of the listener. His sentimental tone, immaculate clarity and forward projection, perfectly smooth phrasing over any rhythm is indicative that he is evolving into one of the genres brightest star.
Tony Curtis' exceptional remake of the Burt Bacharach classic "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" entitled "High Grade" from album "Stronger" served as the reggae anthem of 2002. This single was self produced and gave the world a first time glance of Tony Curtis' productions skills. These skills were clearly far from novice as the single blazed through airwaves and compilation CDs such as VP Records, Strictly the Best Volume 30 internationally.
Three years later Tony returned with A brand new album entitled, Ready for the World produced by Michael Jahmikes Coburn for Reggae Vibes Productions Inc and distributed by VP RECORDS May 2005. This time, Tony unleashes his vocal prowess and writing skills, artistically defining the concept of love as the sole aberration to war. From the 1st track to the last, its transparent that the artiste is indeed ready.
As is customary, this album is flavored with Curtis traditional specialty for the ladies. Feelings, I Want You More, All The Way and Angel are romantic ballads that will definitely be in rotation on every ladies playlist. Other tracks such as Determined, Know My Style and Follow Me featuring Johnny Osbourne reflect the spiritual side.
The relevance of peace and love, brotherhood, hope, perseverance is profoundly expressed and peaks on track 3, entitled Lets Live. This song not only illustrates his conviction and commitment to peace but is also a universal cry for unity.
Since his 2005 album, Tony Curtis has continued to record on some of the hottest dancehall & reggae riddims.
