DESCRIPTION:
Tim O'Brien, Danny Barnes, & Dennis Crouch perform live at the historic Cactus Cafe in Austin Texas 2007. In this clip from the show the band plays two of Tim's songs off his "Fiddlers Green" album ( "Fiddlers Green & Pretty Fair Maiden" ). The two songs are some of my favorite by Tim and he plays them back to back, so I chose not to edit anything. I usually give the 5 star treatment for this stuff but I had to salvage this footage from a dvd I burned and the conversion just zapped the quality. I hold Tim and his music very high in my world, and this evening was truly a magical one for me. I had moved to Austin just a few months prior and to get such a fantastic intimate concert at the now endangered Cactus Cafe in the heart of the University of Texas campus was extremely cool. I was able to finagle a camera in and scored the soundboard audio recorded to my old mini disc! Wish I had this clip up years ago but none the less here it is and since this time I have been lucky enough to shoot Tim solo in HD but this combo of Danny Barnes ( Bad Livers ) and Grammy winning bassist Dennis Crouch is a true treat. The songs have such strong narrative and imagery combined with very catchy melodies and excellent musicianship.
