Tighten Up Brooklyn

Miss Gemini (formerly of Tighten UP Brooklyn) has created a new night, Another Scorcher, which is about to take over Brooklyn’s

nightlife. This event will feature the amalgamated sounds of Miss Gemini and Ursa Major’s stellar record collection. The pair has been spinning records

independently both locally and abroad for over a decade and have

joined forces over the past four years by guest djing at each other’s

nights in NYC: Tighten Up and SPQR. Now the dynamic duo has created a

distinct NYC soundsystem appropriately named Another Scorcher. The

sounds of the evening will feature Ska, Rocksteady, Reggae, Sweet Soul

and Boogaloo. Future events will involve rotating guest Djs playing

various sounds of the 6Ts. Spread the word about Another Scorcher and

join your Boss DJs, Miss Gemini and Ursa Major's first installment at

Huckleberry Bar on August 28th at 10 pm!



Who was TIGHTEN UP BROOKLYN?? Miss Gemini and Upsetter FC met in NYC about 11 years ago at either E & O or some other ska/reggae happening. A few years later, Miss Gemini started guest djing Andy's nights, Heavy Manners Mondays and Boss Sounds at The Raven. And in July 2005, the dj pair decided to get their own night going. Together, they created their monthly night, Tighten UP Brooklyn at Magnetic Fields.
