BUTT TRUMPET is an ORIGINAL.We try to be an original punk rock band in a world full of clones.BUTT TRUMPET was originally founded in 1991 by THOM BONE. Many former members of the project have spawned other great projects because of BT (an example: BETTY BLOWTORCH was 3/4 of a BT lineup that Thom built).Our ONLY influence is life.We copy nobody on purpose, ever (unless we're paying tribute via a cover song).We are considered by many to be "classic punk" but it is there that any similarities end.We also throughout our history have been the "first" to do many things. Some examples:



The first major label record to have an internet address on the cover.



The least expensive major label record ever made ("Primitive Enema" - $700 including pizza).



The only other punk band ever signed to EMI other than the Sex Pistols.



The first punk band to consistently have two bass players.

BUTT TRUMPET is the personal project of THOM BONE (and now, also KLARK KUNT), and has taken many forms over the years. It is NOT a band so much as it is a VISION.FROM A REVIEW ON BESTMYSPACEBANDS.COM: "Probably the last TRUE punk rock band on earth, and I do not say that lightly. They dare to be original in a world full of clones. True, classic punk. They are amazing both recorded and live also (I have a bunch of their releases and they are all amazing, especially the new stuff). I've seen them live a few times too and their shows are off the charts! Thom Bone, the founder of the project (from talking to him after a show once I learned that the band is his project, that it's basically him with an added backing band that changes a lot) is a genius songwriter. Seriously, what else can I say but check them out, there is no better (or more original) punk rock band I have found yet. They have two bass players and usually two or three hot chicks in the lineups yet play good, violent yet funny as hell (most of the time, but when Thom gets serious he'll rip your head off as well) punk rock. Also, I remember Thom saying that the only influence this band has is "life" (yes, that's how original they are, takes balls to say that, I think!)" - Gernblan

The ultimate goal of this project? Well, in Thom's own words: "Of course, the goal here would be to finally reach the point where we're ubiquitous enough to be finally turned into Muzak. I mean, how cool would it be to hear easy-listening versions of your songs played in an elevator someday?!"
